If you’re working as a producer, you’re going to deal with a crisis. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’. Usually we learn to deal with adversary by experiencing it, and developing our toolkit in real time. But what if you had a playbook for when sh*t hits the fan. Whether it’s a minor nuisance or a life and death situation, having a system to fall back on could save your sanity.
If there’s a crisis to be had in our producing profession, Lauren has faced it. Artists lost in China? near death incident on stage? paying a bribe to ensure the show goes on? She’s seen it, she’s developed a map for navigating it and she’ll share it with you to save you the drama.
Lauren Eisinger has worked as a Producer and Festival Programmer in the UK, USA and across Australia. Running her own producing practice, her clients include Circus Oz and Legs On The Wall as well as independent collectives Pony Cam, Lemony S Puppet Theatre and Throw Catch Collective among others. She has produced Spiegeltent Wollongong for Merrigong Theatre Company and been Head of Programming and Producing for House of Oz at Edinburgh Fringe, and presented work with Sydney Opera House, Carriageworks, Steppenwolf (Chicago), Chamaleon (Berlin) and Hunan Art Theatre (China). She has been International Development Manager for Circa Contemporary Circus, worked for Underbelly, programming 600 shows a year into their festivals across the UK and worked for Sydney Festival under three different Artistic Directors.
A graduate of the University of Sydney where she was awarded her Bachelor of Arts in History and Music, she is currently studying the Executive Masters in Cultural Leadership through the Royal Academy of the Arts in London and Maastricht University in The Netherlands, and has been accepted into the Masters of Business Administration in Cultural Leadership.
